Old Elegance: Church Visit #3
Down the hill from our house is a Presbyterian church named after Sojourner Truth, an African American abolitionist and preacher. Janice went to help our daughter lead worship at our old church. I didn’t want to go because, in the spirit of rest during my sabbatical, I’m trying to avoid attending churches where people know me. I’m enjoying a short sabbatical. For those who aren’t familiar with the concept, it’s an extended time of rest, as well as an opportunity to refresh one’s relationship with God.
